In between · The rooms

Thirteen rooms, three floors, one light well.

Each room is named after a Mexican plant and has a code that tells you where it is: the number is the floor, the letter its place on the floor. Floor 1 is the ground floor, floor 2 wraps the light well, floor 3 is on the roof.

The house

A 1930s building, opened up through the middle.

Two curved bay windows on the façade, a light well crossed by steel bridges, a white spiral stair and restored Tiffany lamps. Francisco Pardo (architecture) and DÉCADA (interiors) reworked the house. AD México featured it on 20 September 2025.

Colonia Hipódromo was laid out in 1926 over the Jockey Club’s racetrack. The oval is still there: today it is Avenida Ámsterdam, the lap that starts the morning.
